En una destacada intervenci\u00f3n ante la Corte Internacional de Justicia (CIJ), M\u00e9xico se pronunci\u00f3 en defensa de Gaza al exigir que se detengan las acciones belicistas de Israel. La representante del gobierno mexicano, Patricia P\u00e9rez Galeana, subray\u00f3 la indispensable labor de la Agencia de Naciones Unidas para los Refugiados Palestinos (UNRWA) en la entrega de servicios b\u00e1sicos a la poblaci\u00f3n refugiada. Durante las audiencias, se argument\u00f3 que las restricciones impuestas por Israel al acceso humanitario contravienen las obligaciones internacionales y equivalen a un castigo colectivo frente a la poblaci\u00f3n civil, lo cual es prohibido por el derecho humanitario. El gobierno mexicano tambi\u00e9n solicit\u00f3 que se garantice que se respeten los derechos fundamentales de los palestinos, lo cual incluye el acceso a alimentos y agua.
